How do I add a link for my web site? Is there a fee for listing my web site on MassHome? How do I advertise my web site on MassHome? Can I donate to support MassHome? We charge a one-time administrative fee of $15.00 to add new links for businesses and for-profit organizations.  There is no fee for public service organizations/associations such as veterans organizations, Fire and Police Departments, non-profit choruses/theater groups, historical societies, and the like. Rates vary based on the popularity of the catgeory and the positioning, size and type of your ad.  Please check our Advertising Guidelines for details and a link to our Advertising Information Request Form.  We will contact you with propsed rates as soon as we receive your request. (Return to Questions) Can I donate to support MassHome? Yes. Click on the button and PayPal will process your donation. You do not have to be a PayPal member to donate. (Return to Questions) Why do your links sometimes connect to a site with objectionable content? Because, since the last time we checked the link, the original owner of the domain name allowed their registration to expire.  At that time anyone, including owners of sites with objectionable content, can register the domain name and point it to their site.  Unfortunately, we cannot detect this until our next check of the link or until someone reports the site. (Return to Questions) How do I report a site with objectionable content or a dead link? Please send us an e-mail if you are connected to a site other than the one you expected, particularly if the site has offensive or objectionable content.  Even though we expend considerable effort to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our links, we are not perfect and welcome your help. (Return to Questions) Why do you have two different formats? We use either Full Page or Frame formats depending on the number of links in a category.  Each Category starts with a Full Page format.  As the number of links increases, we convert the category to a Frames format to reduce the response time and computer resources required to load the links.  When our conversion is complete, we expect that all business categories will be in Frame format with a blue background and all historical categories will be in Full Page format with a parchment background. (Return to Questions) Why do listings with "A", "An" or "The" in the title appear to be out of sequence? Listings beginning with "A", "An" or "The" are alphabetized by the first letter following "A", "An" or "The".  For example, "A Seaside Inn" is included in the "S" listings and "The Carriage House" is included in the "C" listings. (Return to Questions) What do the icons mean in each listing? The first icon (preceding the link) defines the Category.  The second icon (following the link) defines the Method of Contact and links to the page where you can find either a contact directory, form, e-mail address or phone number.

Why do the e-mail contact links no longer connect directly to my e-mail program? For some time now "spambots" have been harvesting active e-mail adresses from web sites. Consequently, we are gradually converting all e-mail links to point to the page on the linked site containing the e-mail address.  We apologize for the incovenience but we feel this action is necessary to protect both you and us from spam and e-mail viruses.
